Fire Extinguisher Inspection and Test Plan Points

H: Hold Point implies that relevant production activities shall not proceed until the continuation of work is permitted by Purchaser. (Notification req'd

W: Witness point implies that Purchaser intends to witness the designated inspection feature. If Purchaser decides not to witness the relevant feature, production can proceed without permission of Purchaser. (Notification req'd)

R: Review inspection & test records (Notification not req'd)

The above Fire Extinguisher ITP is general and must be modified based on your purchaser order specification. You must open 3 new columns in above table as below:

  • Reference Document
  • Acceptance Criteria
  • Verifying Document

Reference document is the construction code or purchaser own specification. The acceptance criteria refer to specific code or specification clauses and states the acceptable tolerances and ranges.

Verifying document is refer to minute of meeting, quality control report, material test report, test procedure, packing list, bill of lading, etc.

The above ITP has been prepared based on direct purchase from fire extinguisher manufacturer, so if you want to purchase from a supplier then witnessing above tests might not be possible. In this case wittiness points will be converted to the review and third party inspector must review manufacture quality control records.

Hold, witness, review points selection must be determined by the purchaser. Some purchasers have stringent approach and consider more hold and witness points, others may select review points for all above items and only order for pre-shipment inspection.
